Strategic Marketing Project Leader - Ascend offices in Austin or Grapevine, TX

The Strategic Project Leader plays a pivotal role by providing exceptional marketing, strategic thinking, service and value to our clients. This role leads the marketing, strategic, tactical and support functions in order to achieve the client and company objectives. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to lead and complete initiatives on time and on budget for large, complex projects. Strong marketing, strategic planning, project planning, organizational and communication skills needed.  Outstanding client relationship skills required.  The desire to understand and work with next generation marketing, such as Journey Marketing and advanced technology, is vital.

As a key member of our Customer Experience team, your areas of focus will include:



  • Create outstanding marketing strategies and plans to successfully meet client objectives
  • Foster outstanding working relationship with clients through collaboration, influence, negotiation and flawless execution
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client’s businesses, brands, customers, marketing and competitive environments
  • Design, lead and implement marketing-focused, strategic project solutions to meet/exceed client’s objectives
  • Lead and drive the work effort to successfully accomplish large, complex marketing project(s)
  • Build outstanding working relationships across all internal functions in order to achieve client objectives
  • Create the work plan, schedules and performance metrics to foster a collaborative, and energized team to produce outstanding client work
  • Effectively lead and motivate internal team to produce best in class work
  • Work within all internal software programs to track and analyze project(s)
  • Grow and expand client(s) with new, repeat projects
  • Manage all internal costs with accountability for an on-budget delivery



  • Demonstrated accomplishments in B2B and / or B2C marketing for major company, including expert knowledge of  methodologies and digital technologies
  • 4 - 6 year’s experience in marketing management
  • Demonstrated experience with marketing strategic planning, positioning, target audience, market research, analysis, campaign development and execution
  • Outstanding listening skills and the empathy to collect, process and interpret client requirements
  • Analytically minded, comfortable with data, response metrics, advanced technology and trend analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skill by building appropriate rapport, establishing and maintaining constructive and effective relationships
  • Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal guidance
  • Comfortable with advanced software and technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office



  • Bachelors in Business, or MBA, with emphasis in Marketing
