Sharon Beeman is Ascend’s “Queen of the 800 Numbers.” She manages all Verzon Business Markets toll-free numbers across all tactics. We are grateful to a fantastic marketing professor she met while attending the University of North Texas, who inspired Sharon to switch from music to marketing. Though it was a loss to the music industry, it was a win for us! Sharon still loves music and is an avid concert-goer. Some of the recent concerts attended is Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Beyonce, and is hoping to see Sia, Adele and The Chain Smokers. Knowing Sharon, we’re sure she’ll make it happen.
“Like trying to catch lightning in a bottle” is the way one person described Deanna Bond, whose broad background and many successes in marketing defy our ability to provide adequate description of such a talented person in a short bio.
Conscientious, organized, and amazingly resourceful, Deanna has a very diverse skill set in real-life customer relationship management, research, event planning and project management. She calls it “Perceptive Situational Assessment” – a way to quickly distill facts and come up with solutions that are on-target and provide clients results beyond their expectations.
Among those with whom she’s worked with during her career are John W. Peavy III, T. Boone Pickens, and Lamar Hunt. Quite a roster!
With interests including quantum physics, complementary medicine, spirituality, faith and healing, Deanna’s education includes a B.B.A. in Marketing & Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington, (graduating with highest honors). She has done additional work in the Pan American University Honors Studies Program, a part of the University of Texas in Edinburg, Texas.
Deanna and her partner Ryan live in North Texas.
Charlie is “Mr. Collaboration” in the already collaborative culture at Ascend. He is a master consensus-driver, a clear communicator and a general inspiration to the teams on which he participates. His professional focus spans a business-based IT spectrum that includes IT management, software development, product management, internet technology, strategic planning and finance. He has a gift for identifying critical business issues and developing solutions that reduce cost, improve processes and enhance customer service. Charlie is an avid bicycler whose current annual record—which he hopes someday to break—is 8,000 miles.
Cindy Cunningham is Ascend’s “secret weapon” when it comes to reporting and analysis. With over 20 years’ experience in the world of telecom, Cindy has mastered the art of understanding the insights data provides and translates it all into actionable information – so that valuable business isn’t lost through neglect, but rather grown through customer knowledge. Customer retention is her specialty!
Part of the Ascend team for over seven years, Cindy is married with two children and enjoys reading, sewing, boating and making her yard the best-looking one in the neighborhood.

Pam Dempsey’s timely and inspired delivery makes her an essential member of our creative staff. Pam has over 20 years experience specializing in graphic design, digital and web marketing, direct mail, email and print collateral communications.
Pam has held corporate communication and graphic design positions at Ernst & Young and JPMorgan Investment Banking. She enjoys working at Ascend for the opportunity to learn and develop new areas of expertise.
She earned her BBA in Marketing from UT Arlington with additional studies in Visual Communications and Advertising Art.
Pam is married and has two daughters.
As one of eleven children, Peter learned everything he needed to know about collaboration, negotiation and the true meaning of a sharing economy by the time he was in kindergarten. Today he facilitates companies through critical change to meet their business objectives. Peter has served in senior leadership positions on both client and agency sides, and has helped industry-leading companies develop new products, enter new markets, expand market share and increase customer engagement and loyalty. Strong on innovation and data-driven marketing strategy, he develops programs focused on clients’ most challenging goals. Peter is a passionate mentor in his personal and professional life, and he was recently named to the board of directors for On the Road Lending, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing accessible transportation to those in need.
Quick, detailed and efficient, Steve Doktorski is our client data specialist. (He earned his BS in mathematics!)
Steve’s assignments for Radio Shack, Accor Hotels and Targetbase involved the design and management of customer databases. His forte is database design, loyalty program management and customer communications.
Steve possesses an expansive collection of music, including vinyl from the 50’s and 60’s, in addition to over 40,000 mp3s. He enjoys traveling to destinations with warm sand and clear blue water.
Creative, original, and funny describe Pamela Fleming. Having worked in diverse industries including consumer product goods, professional services, commercial real estate development and telecom, Pam’s rich background allows her to bring a wealth of marketing and project management experience to the table.
Her areas of expertise are expansive and include brand development and video production, website development, marketing planning and strategy, promotional campaign strategy and execution, to list a few. Pam enjoys the challenge of working on different types of projects, especially when they require use of her favorite skills.
She studied at Southern Methodist University and has been on the cover of The Dallas Morning News.
As a coffee connoisseur, Pam’s favorite aspect of working at Ascend is having two different coffee machines to choose from!
A seasoned professional, Gabby Giddan is a marketing communications specialist with over 20 years of experience leading complex and creative marketing campaigns for large telecommunication enterprises. Resourceful, innovative and practical, she is a strong cross-functional team leader who drives results for her clients.
Gabby graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters in Business Administration in Telecommunications from the University of Miami.
Gabby has a son, a daughter and a rescue dog that keep her very busy. She is active in the community, and volunteers for a number of causes in her area, including the FloMo Food Truck Fest. She also enjoys traveling, exercise and spending time with her wide circle of friends and extended family.
Rob is all about maximizing return on the investment of time, money and resources put into marketing initiatives. His past work for clients like Hertz, Sony Electronics and Chili's Bar and Grill is characterized by solutions that do more with less effort, fewer errors and less stress. With a keen focus on customer engagement and journey marketing orchestration, Rob’s secret weapon is the ability to solve complicated business problems with solutions that are simple and intuitive to the end user.
Rob holds a B.S. In Finance from the University of New Orleans.
Holt Hackney bleeds printer ink. The son of a journalist, Holt sold papers on the street corner back in the day before graduating to the mail room, where he stuffed one section of the paper into another on Tuesday nights. By 14, he was writing articles for the weekly paper, a skill he leveraged to help pay his way through school as a journalism major at the University of Florida.
By the mid-1990s, Holt had found a new passion as a marketer. He led the marketing communications effort of an immensely successful startup called CyBerCorp (purchased by Schwab for $500 million) before being hired by Hewlett Packard as a Director of Communications within its Imaging & Printing Group. In 2001, Holt launched his public relations firm, Hackney Communications. The firm has gone on to represent hundreds of clients, from coast to coast, in the area of marketing communications, public relations, and thought leadership campaigns. In the late summer of 2016, Ascend acquired Hackney Communications and added Holt to its team of experienced marketers.
Ron exemplifies behavior that the customer always comes first and is willing to do all he can to satisfy their needs.
With over 26 years with Verizon, Ron obtained a plethora of marketing and sales support experience. From copy writing, sales collateral development, direct mail, printing, trade shows, ad agency advertising and call center exposure… his experience is vast and he’s always willing to learn more and share his knowledge.
Ron was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. He is an avid nature and outdoors lover that enjoys sports, home fixer-upper projects, working in the yard, or hiking in the woods.
Ron resides in the Baltimore Maryland area with his wife and two kids. On days off he can typically be found working on a home project or running to his children’s sporting events. He enjoys spending time with friends, values his friendships and believes that unique interesting individuals make the world go round.
Shruti Jaswal takes an artistic approach to data analytics, which allows her to spot new patterns and trends and to come up with fresh ideas. With a Master of Science degree in pharmacology, she has extensive experience in data science, research and pharmaceuticals. When she is not diving deeply into data, Shruti enjoys time spent with her husband Samrat and their son Keyaan, especially time spent cooking as a family.
Steve Judge comes to Ascend with over 30 years in advertising and marketing ─ much of it from the agency side. He understands how to connect with customers using visual technology.
Working with a great number of verticals and Fortune 500 clients over his illustrious career, Steve has great insight into how marketing departments work and how they need help. Coupled with his marketing prowess, Steve’s functional management skills including account management, creative, IT, production, finance and HR.
Steve’s Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts is from the University of Kansas. He and his wife, Linda, have five kids (four boys and a girl) ─ all out of college and successfully launched! Steve loves travel, golf, theater, reading, “sampling” wine and the symphony.
Peter Kerry has the preciseness and tenacity needed to produce insightful marketing analysis that leads to well-informed business decisions. He will go the extra mile to ensure accuracy and completeness, and the managers and executives with whom he has worked have confidently counted on him to provide reliable and actionable information. When Peter isn’t busy being with his wife Tammy and their two children, he enjoys outdoor activities like fishing and skiing as well as putting his hand to home improvement projects.
